Barbara Foster,
an Associate Professor at CUNY,
and specialist in Women's Studies, has published numerous articles on
aspects of international education and over 200 poems in journals in
every English-speaking country.Much of her poetry is erotic and celebrates the life of a mature bacchante. With her husband Michael she co-authored The Secret Lives of Alexandra David-Neel: Explorer of Tibet and its forbidden practices, Overlook Press, 1998. An acclaimed biography of the French woman explorer of Tibet. Barbara, also a traveler, was born in Philadelphia and weaned on Dick Clark's American Band Stand. She has tangoed through much of the world and now resides in Greenwich Village where she is working on a book about its love life.
Michael Foster,
novelist, biographer and historian, was born in Brooklyn but
claims he got his talent for telling stories from his Russian
blacksmith grandfather. After leaving Harvard, he struck out
to become an adventurer through writing.
Freedom's Thunder ,
his first novel, set during the America Revolution, was praised
by Isaac B. Singer. While writing
The Secret Lives of Alexandra
David-Neel: Explorer of Tibet and its forbidden practices, Overlook Press, 1998. Michael
merged with the consciousness of Alexandra David-Neel to
recreate her inner life. Three in Love brings together
Michael's skill in history, narrative and humor.
Letha Hadady,is a
well-known alternative health expert and the author
of
Asian Health Secrets: The Complete Guide To Asian
Herbal Medicine (Crown 1996)
She has also written
Personal Renewal (Harmony 1998)
a popular book on rejuvenation.
Her origins date back to the Holy Roman Empire--which
you may recall was neither holy, nor Roman, nor an
empire--and appropriately she grew up speaking Hungarian
in New Mexico.
An artist and traveler, Letha illustrated Forbidden Journey and
she is at work on a book about natural beauty.
